Addition Rule: Make 10

Split the second number into two parts so the first part combines with the first number to make 10.

Step-by-Step Thought Process (8 + 6):

1. Target: Need 2 to reach 10 from 8.

2. Split 6: Decompose 6 into (2 + 4).

3. Combine: 8 + 2 = 10, then add remaining 4 → 10 + 4 = 14!
